What is social media?

The basic definition of social media is:

Social media is people having conversations online. These conversations

can take a variety of forms; for example, blogs and comments or photo sharing.

Looking for more of a textbook definition? We'd probably say:

Social Media is the set of online tools that people use to collaborate and

connect online. These can be anything from forums and blogs to social

networks and online innovation communities.
