		<description>I&#039;d say that the higher penetration of social networking / web 2.0 in Britain (most online in Europe) would make us even better candidates for greater engagement and participation. The UK government already does a lot of this stuff (see the work of the participation unit), and organisations such as the JRF and the Work Foundation have looked into it, but it still feels that an Obama-esque campaign could see it really take off here. Neither Brown nor &#039;just call me Dave&#039; have the same appeal as Barack, but as in other spheres (private consumers), governance and politics could really do better at efficiently delivering what individuals actually want.</description>
