Here’s a great set of slides from Tara at HorsePigCow. They discuss the issues of online communities and the conversations that exist on the web in an interesting and novel way.

What’s particularly great about these slides is the way that Tara shows how Maslow’s hierarchy of needs helps us to understand and analyse the changes in consumer behaviour. How the human desire for fulfilment is driving these behaviours and so the way that businesses react to them.

I’m not sure I agree completely that Adam Smith’s ‘invisible hand’ is being made more visible by these changes in behaviour. But the slides are succinct and provocative and definitely worth a read.
